Terms of service

Version 1 · Effective August 29, 2026

These terms govern your use of Moonbeem. Moonbeem is operated by Moonbeem, Inc., a Delaware corporation ("Moonbeem", "we", or "us"). By using Moonbeem, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, do not use the service.

We have tried to write these terms in plain language. Where legal precision matters we use precise terms, and each substantive section begins with a short summary of what it says.

1. Who can use Moonbeem

Plain summary: You can use Moonbeem if you are at least 13. To withdraw creator earnings you must be at least 18 and complete verification with our payments partner.

You may use Moonbeem if you are at least 13 years old. If you are under 18, you may use Moonbeem with the consent and supervision of a parent or legal guardian, who agrees to be bound by these terms on your behalf.

To withdraw creator earnings you must be at least 18 years old and complete identity verification through Stripe Connect, our payments partner. Creators under 18 may use the platform, build a profile, and accrue earnings, but earnings cannot be withdrawn until you turn 18 and complete verification.

You may not use Moonbeem if you have previously been suspended or removed from the service, or if your jurisdiction prohibits use of platforms like Moonbeem.

2. Your account

Plain summary: You sign in with an email link or a Google account. Keep your account accurate and secure. You are responsible for activity on it.

You sign in with a magic link sent to your email address or with a Google account. We do not use passwords. You agree to provide accurate information, keep it current, and keep your sign-in email secure. You are responsible for all activity that occurs under your account, including on a connected TV app.

You may have only one personal account at a time. Creating multiple accounts to evade restrictions, manipulate metrics, or circumvent these terms is prohibited.

To close your account, write to hello@moonbeem.xyz from the address on the account. We do not yet offer self-serve deletion. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms, as described in section 12.

3. What Moonbeem is

Plain summary: Moonbeem is permissioned fan distribution for film and series: authorized clips and stills, fan edits posted where you already post, campaigns that pay creators for views, and rentals and purchases of the films themselves. We are not a content owner.

Moonbeem connects fan creators, audiences, and rights holders. Rights holders ("partners") authorize specific titles for fan distribution. Fans download authorized clips and stills, make their own edits, post them on TikTok, Instagram, YouTube, or X, and submit them to the matching title page. Partners can fund campaigns that pay creators for the views their edits earn. Audiences can rent or buy hosted films and series on the site and on the Moonbeem TV app, and can tip creators.

Moonbeem does not own the underlying works. Partners retain ownership of their works and authorize specific uses through the platform. Fan creators retain ownership of their original creative contributions, subject to the license in section 4.

We do not guarantee any specific outcome from using Moonbeem, including views, earnings, audience growth, or partnership opportunities.

4. Content you submit

Plain summary: You own your edits. By submitting one you give us permission to display, distribute, track, and promote it through Moonbeem. You are responsible for having the rights to what you submit.

When you submit content to Moonbeem, including a link to a fan edit you posted elsewhere, an uploaded episode or clip, or profile material ("your content"), you retain ownership of it. You grant Moonbeem a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to:

  • Host, display, embed, and distribute your content on the Moonbeem platform, including the website and the TV app
  • Make technical modifications needed for formatting, encoding, and delivery, such as re-hosting a thumbnail of your post, generating previews, or transcoding video
  • Fetch and store the public engagement metrics of the posts you submit, as described in the privacy policy, in order to attribute views and calculate earnings
  • Promote your content within Moonbeem and in connection with Moonbeem's marketing, including partner showcases and social posts
  • Sublicense the above to our service providers as needed to operate the platform

This license continues for as long as your content is on Moonbeem, plus a reasonable period afterward for backup and archive purposes. If your content is removed, we take it off public display within a reasonable time, though copies may remain in backups for a limited period.

You represent and warrant that you own or have all necessary rights to your content; that it does not infringe any third party's copyright, trademark, publicity, or privacy rights; that it complies with these terms and applicable law; and that, for content derived from an authorized work, you are using the work in a manner consistent with the partner's authorization on Moonbeem.

Submitting an edit means confirming that the post is yours. We verify social accounts by asking you to place a code in your public bio, and we check that the post's author matches a verified account. Submitting someone else's post as your own is a violation of these terms.

5. Authorized fan distribution

Plain summary: Partners authorize specific titles. You may make fan content from authorized titles under the partner's terms, with attribution, and only on Moonbeem for titles that are authorized here.

  • Partners authorize specific titles for fan creation and distribution on Moonbeem
  • Fan creators may create derivative content from authorized titles, subject to the authorization terms set by the partner
  • Authorized fan content carries attribution to both the original work and the fan creator
  • Moonbeem tracks attribution through its provenance infrastructure
  • Earnings flow according to the campaign rates set by the partner and Moonbeem

When you create fan content from an authorized title, you agree to maintain attribution to the underlying work and rights holder, to comply with any specific terms the rights holder sets (for example distribution windows, geographic restrictions, or use-case limits), and to use the work in ways consistent with the authorization.

If a work is not authorized on Moonbeem, you may not submit fan content derived from that work here. Unauthorized derivative content is removed under our DMCA process (section 11).

6. Campaigns and creator earnings

Plain summary: When a partner funds a campaign on a title, verified edits on that title earn a set amount per thousand views. Views settle for a period before they pay. Campaigns have fixed budgets. You withdraw through Stripe Connect from $10.

A campaign is a fixed budget a partner funds on a title, with a CPM rate: dollars paid per 1,000 views. Each campaign sets its own rate, shown with the campaign. Only verified edits on that title earn, based on the public view counts the platforms report on your posts.

An edit posted during a campaign counts every view it gets from the moment you post it. An edit posted before the campaign began earns on the view growth from the moment you submit it. Approval decides whether an edit pays; a rejected submission pays nothing.

Each day's views enter a settling window, currently seven days, before they become payable. This guards against view counts that are revised or removed after posting. If a campaign's remaining budget cannot cover all qualified views in a payout cycle, payouts are split proportionally. Earnings accrue until the campaign's budget is spent.

Withdrawals are paid through Stripe Connect. To withdraw, you connect a Stripe account, complete Stripe's verification, and agree to the Stripe Connect Account Agreement and the Stripe Services Agreement. Stripe's terms govern the payments relationship; these terms govern your relationship with Moonbeem. The minimum withdrawal is $10. There is no fee to participate. Bank transfer timing follows Stripe's schedule, and a first payout can take longer while your account is verified.

We do not control Stripe's verification and are not responsible for delays or denials by Stripe. We may hold or delay payouts in cases of suspected fraud, manipulation, chargebacks, disputes, or violations of these terms.

You are solely responsible for any taxes owed on your earnings. We will issue tax forms where the law requires it.

If you believe an earnings calculation is incorrect, contact hello@moonbeem.xyz within 60 days of the disputed calculation. We will review and respond within a reasonable time. If a transaction that generated earnings is refunded or charged back, the corresponding earnings are reversed.

7. Rentals, purchases, and tips

Plain summary: Rentals give you 30 days to start and 48 hours to finish once you press play. Purchases do not expire. Payments run through Stripe. Some titles are limited to certain territories.

Some hosted titles can be rented or bought. A rental must be started within 30 days of purchase and, once started, can be watched for 48 hours from first play. The 48 hours begin when our server records your first play, not when you open the page. A purchase does not expire. Rentals and purchases are personal, for your own viewing, and cannot be transferred.

Payments are processed by Stripe. Prices are shown before checkout. A rental or purchase is a license to watch the title on Moonbeem, not ownership of the work. If a payment is refunded, access ends. If you have a problem with a rental or purchase, contact us and we will look at it case by case.

Partners can restrict a title to certain territories. Where they do, we use the country your connection appears to come from to decide whether playback is available, and we do not store that country.

You can tip a creator, between $2 and $500, with an optional short message. Tips are processed by Stripe and paid to the creator; they are not refundable except at our discretion, for example if the payment was fraudulent.

8. Playback, DRM, and downloads

Plain summary: Hosted video is protected with DRM and delivered through signed, short-lived tokens. Do not circumvent it. Authorized clips and stills are for making fan edits, not for redistribution as-is.

Hosted films and series are delivered by our video partner with digital rights management (Widevine and FairPlay) and per-viewer signed playback tokens that expire after a few hours. The playback token carries your account identifier so that a leaked token can be traced to the account that minted it. You may not circumvent, disable, or interfere with DRM, tokens, or any other technical protection, and you may not capture, record, or redistribute hosted video.

Authorized clips and stills are provided for creating fan edits under the partner's authorization. Each download is recorded against your account and counts toward the limits of your account tier. You may not redistribute clips or stills as-is, sell them, or use them outside the authorization.

The Moonbeem TV app signs in through a short code you approve on the website. Approving a code signs that device into your account; keep your devices secure. You can end a TV session from the app. Playback on the TV app is subject to the same rules as playback on the website.

9. Intellectual property

Plain summary: Moonbeem owns its platform and brand. You own your content. Partners own their works. Do not infringe anyone's rights.

The Moonbeem platform, including our software, design, brand, trademarks, and protocol architecture, is owned by Moonbeem, Inc. and protected by intellectual property law. These terms do not grant you any rights to our intellectual property except the limited right to use the platform as intended.

You retain ownership of your content, subject to the license in section 4. Authorized works distributed through Moonbeem remain the property of their rights holders, and your use of them is limited to the authorization granted on Moonbeem.

You may not submit, distribute, or create content on Moonbeem that infringes any third party's intellectual property rights. If you believe content on Moonbeem infringes your rights, see section 11.

10. Prohibited conduct

Plain summary: Do not do anything illegal, harmful, deceptive, or that interferes with the platform or manipulates earnings.

You may not, in connection with your use of Moonbeem:

  • Submit content that is illegal, harassing, defamatory, fraudulent, threatening, obscene, or otherwise objectionable
  • Submit content that sexualizes minors or that any reasonable person would find exploitative of minors
  • Impersonate any person or entity, submit another person's post as your own, or misrepresent your affiliation with any person or entity
  • Manipulate platform metrics, including views, earnings, or engagement, through automated means, purchased views, or coordinated schemes
  • Circumvent any authentication, authorization, DRM, or technical protection measure, or share sign-in links, activation codes, or sessions
  • Use the platform to distribute malware or other harmful code
  • Scrape, crawl, or use automated tools to access Moonbeem except through interfaces we publish and within our rate limits
  • Reverse engineer, decompile, or attempt to derive source code from the platform
  • Interfere with or disrupt the integrity or performance of the platform
  • Use the platform for any commercial purpose not expressly permitted by these terms

We may investigate and act on any violation, including content removal, withholding of earnings connected to the violation, account suspension or termination, and reporting to law enforcement where appropriate.

11. Copyright and DMCA

Plain summary: If you believe content on Moonbeem infringes your copyright, send us a DMCA notice. We have a process to handle it.

Moonbeem respects intellectual property rights. We respond to notices of alleged copyright infringement as required by the Digital Millennium Copyright Act ("DMCA"). Moonbeem is a registered DMCA service provider (registration number DMCA-1072736).

To submit a DMCA notice, send the following information to our designated agent:

DMCA designated agentDaniel SicklesMoonbeem, Inc.255 Eastern ParkwayBrooklyn, NY 11238Email: hello@moonbeem.xyz

Your notice must include:

  1. A physical or electronic signature of the copyright owner or an authorized agent
  2. Identification of the copyrighted work claimed to be infringed
  3. Identification of the material on Moonbeem claimed to be infringing, with enough detail for us to locate it (a URL is helpful)
  4. Your contact information (address, phone, email)
  5. A statement that you have a good-faith belief that the use is not authorized
  6. A statement, under penalty of perjury, that the information in your notice is accurate and that you are the rights holder or an authorized agent

Counter-notices: if your content was removed and you believe the removal was in error, you may submit a counter-notice including the elements specified in 17 U.S.C. § 512(g). Repeat infringers: we will terminate the accounts of users determined to be repeat infringers under appropriate circumstances. Misrepresentations: submitting a false DMCA notice or counter-notice may result in legal liability under 17 U.S.C. § 512(f).

12. Suspension and termination

Plain summary: Either of us can end your account. If we terminate for cause, we may withhold earnings connected to the violation.

You may close your account at any time by contacting hello@moonbeem.xyz. On closure, your content is removed from public display, and any payable earnings are processed according to section 6, subject to Stripe Connect requirements.

We may suspend or terminate your account or access to specific features at any time, with or without notice, if you materially breach these terms; if your conduct creates legal exposure for Moonbeem or other users; if you engage in fraud, manipulation, or repeated policy violations; if we are required to do so by law or by a partner agreement; or if we discontinue or substantially modify the service.

On termination, your right to use Moonbeem ends. Sections that by their nature should survive (including intellectual property, indemnification, disclaimers, limitation of liability, and dispute resolution) survive termination. If your account is terminated for cause, we may withhold earnings that we reasonably believe are connected to the violation. Earnings unrelated to the violation are paid out according to normal procedures.

13. Disclaimers

Plain summary: Moonbeem is provided as is. We do not promise it will always work perfectly or meet your specific needs.

MOONBEEM IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE". TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, MOONBEEM AND ITS AFFILIATES, OFFICERS, EMPLOYEES, AND AGENTS DISCLAIM ALL WARRANTIES, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, TITLE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT.

WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE PLATFORM WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, ERROR-FREE, SECURE, OR FREE OF VIRUSES OR OTHER HARMFUL COMPONENTS. WE DO NOT WARRANT ANY SPECIFIC OUTCOMES, INCLUDING EARNINGS, AUDIENCE GROWTH, OR PARTNERSHIP OPPORTUNITIES. YOU USE MOONBEEM AT YOUR OWN RISK.

14. Limitation of liability

Plain summary: Our maximum responsibility to you is capped at $100. We are not responsible for indirect damages.

TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, MOONBEEM, INC. AND ITS AFFILIATES, OFFICERS, EMPLOYEES, AND AGENTS WILL NOT BE LIABLE TO YOU FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, SPECIAL, EXEMPLARY, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES ARISING FROM YOUR USE OF MOONBEEM, EVEN IF WE HAVE BEEN ADVISED OF THE POSSIBILITY OF SUCH DAMAGES.

OUR TOTAL CUMULATIVE LIABILITY TO YOU FOR ALL CLAIMS ARISING FROM OR RELATING TO THESE TERMS OR YOUR USE OF MOONBEEM WILL NOT EXCEED ONE HUNDRED DOLLARS ($100). SOME JURISDICTIONS DO NOT ALLOW THE EXCLUSION OR LIMITATION OF CERTAIN DAMAGES; IN THOSE JURISDICTIONS OUR LIABILITY IS LIMITED TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW.

15. Indemnification

Plain summary: If your conduct or content gets us sued, you cover our costs.

You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless Moonbeem, Inc. and its affiliates, officers, employees, and agents from and against any claims, damages, costs, and expenses (including reasonable attorneys' fees) arising from your use of Moonbeem, your violation of these terms, your content or conduct on the platform, or your violation of any third-party rights, including intellectual property, privacy, or publicity rights. We reserve the right to assume the exclusive defense of any matter subject to indemnification, in which case you will cooperate with us in asserting any available defenses.

16. Disputes and governing law

Plain summary: These terms are governed by Delaware law. Most disputes go through individual arbitration, not court, and you waive class actions. You can opt out of arbitration within 30 days.

Governing law: these terms are governed by the laws of the State of Delaware, without regard to its conflict of law principles.

Arbitration: any dispute arising from or relating to these terms or your use of Moonbeem will be resolved through binding individual arbitration, except as described below. Arbitration will be administered by the American Arbitration Association under its Consumer Arbitration Rules. The arbitration will take place in Delaware, or by video conference if both parties agree.

Carve-outs: claims for injunctive relief related to intellectual property, claims that may be brought in small claims court within that court's jurisdictional limits, and disputes that local law requires to be heard in a specific court are not subject to arbitration.

Class action waiver: you agree that disputes will be resolved on an individual basis. You waive any right to participate in a class action, class arbitration, or representative proceeding. The arbitrator may not consolidate claims or preside over any form of representative proceeding.

Opt out: you may opt out of this arbitration agreement by sending written notice to hello@moonbeem.xyz within 30 days of first accepting these terms. Opting out does not affect the rest of these terms.

17. Changes to these terms

Plain summary: We may update these terms. We will notify you of material changes. Continued use means you accept the updated terms.

We may update these terms from time to time. When we make material changes we will update the effective date at the top of this document and notify you through the platform, by email, or both, at least 30 days before the changes take effect. Your continued use of Moonbeem after the effective date of updated terms constitutes acceptance. If you do not agree to updated terms, stop using Moonbeem and you may close your account.

18. General

Entire agreement: these terms, together with our privacy policy, constitute the entire agreement between you and Moonbeem regarding the platform. Severability: if any provision is held unenforceable, the remaining provisions continue in full force. No waiver: our failure to enforce any provision does not waive it. Assignment: you may not assign your rights under these terms without our written consent; we may assign ours freely, including to a successor in a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets. Relationship: nothing in these terms creates an employment, partnership, joint venture, or agency relationship between you and Moonbeem.

Notices: we may send notices to the email address on your account or through the platform. Send notices to us at hello@moonbeem.xyz, or by mail to Moonbeem, Inc., 255 Eastern Parkway, Brooklyn, NY 11238.

Privacy policy

Version 1 · Effective August 29, 2026

This is how Moonbeem, Inc. ("Moonbeem", "we", or "us") handles data on moonbeem.studio and in the Moonbeem TV app. We aim for plain language and we only describe what the platform actually does. If anything here is unclear, write to hello@moonbeem.xyz.

This privacy policy works alongside our terms of service, which govern your use of Moonbeem.

Who we are

Moonbeem is a permissioned fan distribution platform for film and series, operated by Moonbeem, Inc., 255 Eastern Parkway, Brooklyn, NY 11238. Contact hello@moonbeem.xyz.

Account and profile data

You sign in with a magic link sent to your email or with a Google account, through Supabase Auth. We do not use passwords. When you sign up we store your email address and a display name taken from your Google profile or from your email. If you sign in with Google we receive your Google account email and name; we do not request access to anything else.

Your profile holds what you add to it: a handle, display name, bio, avatar, and links. Avatars you upload are stored in our file storage. If you become a creator we also keep a creator profile (handle, display name, bio, avatar, follower and following counts), the social accounts you verify (platform and handle), who you follow, and your ratings, diary entries, reviews, lists, and watched titles, which are private by default.

Your public profile shows your display name, handle, bio, avatar, links, and follower counts. Your email is never shown publicly.

If you import a Letterboxd export, the zip you upload is stored in our file storage and parsed on our servers. We keep a record of the import job and its preview, and we create private ratings, diary entries, reviews, lists, and watched titles from it. Your Letterboxd profile and comments files are not read.

Your cookie consent choices are stored in a cookie on your device and, when you are signed in, mirrored to your account so they follow you across devices.

What you do on Moonbeem

When you open a fan edit, close it, or click through to the platform it was posted on, we record the event: which edit, the event type, how long the modal was open, a random per-open session identifier, and your user id if you are signed in. If you have granted analytics consent, we also record the country, region, and city derived from your connection. We never record latitude and longitude or street-level location. These events are deleted after 24 months.

When you follow an outbound link through Moonbeem (for example to rent or buy a title from a partner or to view a creator's affiliate link), we log the click with the referrer, the platform, campaign parameters, the country, region, and city of your connection, and whether the request looks automated. These click logs contain no user id and no IP address. Affiliate links set a first-party cookie (mb_aff) for seven days so the creator who referred you is credited if you rent or buy the title.

When you download an authorized clip or still, verify a social account, or take similar actions, we write an entry to a per-account event ledger (event type, the item involved, your account tier at the time) and keep lifetime counts per action type. These are used for limits and for creator features.

When you request clips, stills, or fan edits for a title, we store the request and your browser's user agent string, and we notify our team by email with your email address and handle.

Payments, rentals, purchases, and tips

Payments are processed by Stripe. When you rent or buy a title, we open a Stripe Checkout with your account email and our internal identifiers for you, the title, the kind of purchase, the price, and the referring creator if any; Stripe collects your card details and we never see or store card numbers, expiry dates, or security codes. We store an entitlement record: the title, whether it is a rental or purchase, the price paid in cents, when you bought it, when you first pressed play, the referring creator if any, Stripe's session and payment identifiers, and a link to Stripe's receipt. If a payment is refunded we mark the entitlement revoked; if it is disputed we mark it disputed. We also keep an internal settlement ledger that splits each transaction between Stripe's fee, Moonbeem, the distributor, and any affiliate, in integer cents.

When you tip a creator we store your email address and user id, the amount, your optional message, the creator, and Stripe's identifiers, and Stripe receives your email, your user id, and the amount. If a creator subscribes to hosting, Stripe Billing holds the subscription and we store the Stripe customer, subscription, and price identifiers, the tier, and the renewal state. When a partner funds a campaign we create a Stripe customer under the partner's organization name and store Stripe's customer identifier and the payment identifier for the funding.

We do not collect tax forms or tax identification numbers in the product. Stripe may collect tax information as part of its own onboarding.

Creator and partner payouts

Payouts run through Stripe Connect. When you set up payouts we create a Stripe Connect account for you and send Stripe your email address and our internal identifiers for your creator profile and account. Stripe's hosted onboarding collects your identity, bank, and tax information; we never receive or store it. We store only Stripe's account identifier and two flags: whether onboarding is complete and whether payouts are enabled. We keep an append-only audit trail when a payout account is replaced, and we email you a notice when that happens.

We keep ledgers of your earnings: per-edit campaign earnings (edit, campaign, title, views at calculation, amount, date), any credits we issue, and each withdrawal (amount, Stripe transfer identifier, status). When you withdraw we send Stripe the amount and our identifiers for you and the withdrawal. The minimum withdrawal is $10.

Playback, DRM, and playback analytics

Hosted video is delivered by Mux with digital rights management. To play a title, our server checks whether you may watch it (including any territory rights, using the country your connection appears to come from, which we do not store) and mints short-lived signed playback and license tokens. The playback token carries your user id, or "anon" if you are not signed in, as a forensic claim so that a leaked token can be traced to the account that minted it. It grants no additional access. When you first play a rental, our server records the time so the 48-hour window can be enforced.

Mux Data receives playback analytics for every play: the episode and title identifiers, the title name, and the referring curator identifier if any, together with Mux's own measurements such as watch time, quality of experience, browser, and operating system. Your user id is sent to Mux Data only if you have granted analytics consent. Mux's player library may store its own anonymous viewer identifier in your browser. We read back only aggregate views and watch time per title for partner dashboards, never individual viewers, and Mux keeps this data on a rolling window of roughly 100 days.

We do not keep a watch history or playback position on our servers. The TV app stores your resume position on your device only.

Tracking creators' public posts

Moonbeem pays creators for views, so we track the public engagement of the posts submitted as fan edits. For TikTok, Instagram, and X posts we fetch public metrics through EnsembleData; for YouTube videos we use the YouTube Data API. We record a snapshot when an edit is submitted and then about once a day (at least every 20 hours) for each active edit: view, like, comment, and share counts, and the full response the provider returned. We also store the post's thumbnail in our own file storage, the posting time, and, for Instagram, the author's username and any verified co-authors. These snapshots are what campaign earnings are calculated from, and the partner whose title an edit belongs to can see them. Snapshots are kept for as long as the edit exists.

To verify that a social account is yours, we ask you to place a code in the account's public bio and we fetch the bio through EnsembleData to check for it. We compare the bio and do not store it in our database; if the check fails, the provider's error response may be captured in our server logs. YouTube accounts are not verified this way.

Edits whose posts stop responding are re-checked nightly using the platforms' public endpoints (TikTok and YouTube oEmbed, X's syndication service) and EnsembleData for Instagram; we record the result of each check. Our team can also add fan edits from public posts, including posts by creators who do not have a Moonbeem account. Those edits are tracked in the same way, and we may create a placeholder creator profile (handle, display name, avatar, and a claim code) so that earnings can be held for the creator until they claim it. To find edits, our team searches TikTok and YouTube by keyword or hashtag and reviews public curator accounts on Instagram; the results (author handles, names, avatars, posts, captions, and counts) are fetched through EnsembleData and kept for review. If you find your post or a placeholder profile on Moonbeem and want it removed, contact us.

Title information (synopses, posters, cast, release dates) comes from The Movie Database (TMDB). No personal data is sent to TMDB.

TV app and sessions

To sign in on the Moonbeem TV app you approve a short code on the website. We store only a hash of the code, its status, the times it was created, last polled, approved, and used, its expiry time, the account that approved it, and the device name the app sends ("Apple TV" by default). Codes expire after ten minutes; expired codes remain in our records as terminal rows. Once approved, the TV holds a standard sign-in session on the device. We do not store device identifiers, IP addresses, or user agents for TV devices, and we do not yet offer a device list; you can sign out from the app.

On the website, sign-in state is kept in cookies set by Supabase Auth (named sb-...). Sessions are refreshed automatically and end when you sign out.

Email

Sign-in magic links are sent by Supabase Auth. Everything else is sent through Resend: a welcome email on your first sign-in; notices when a fan edit you submitted is pending, approved, or rejected; a notice when clips, stills, or edits you requested for a title become available; a notice if your payout setup is reset; and an invitation if you are added to a partner organization. We keep a log of queued and sent notification emails with Resend's message identifier.

Title-update notices are on by default and every one carries an unsubscribe link. The other emails are transactional. We do not run a marketing list. When you submit a fan edit or request content for a title, our team also receives an internal notice by email with your handle, the platform, the post link, the title, and the campaign, or your email address and handle for a request.

Cookies and analytics

We use a few cookies:

  • sb-... : Supabase authentication state, essential, set when you sign in
  • mb_consent : your cookie banner choices, kept for 13 months or until you change them
  • mb_aff : affiliate attribution for seven days after you follow a creator's link, readable only by our server
  • Google Analytics and Microsoft Clarity cookies, set only if you have granted the corresponding consent
  • Mux player storage : an anonymous viewer identifier that Mux's player library stores in your browser whenever a video plays, not consent-gated; the content beacons described under playback are sent on every play as well

Vercel Analytics collects cookie-less page view statistics on every page except admin and partner dashboards. Google Analytics collects page views and a few product events (such as starting sign-in or searching) only if you accept analytics. Microsoft Clarity records sessions only if you accept session recording. Visitors in the EU, EEA, UK, and Switzerland, and visitors whose country we cannot determine, are opted out of both until they accept; elsewhere the default is on until you decline. You can change your choices at any time from privacy settings or the banner's Customize button.

Opening a fan edit or an episode page loads the embedded player from the platform the post is on (TikTok, Instagram, X, or YouTube), which may set its own cookies under that platform's policy.

Security, rate limiting, and error monitoring

To protect the service we rate-limit requests. Anonymous requests are keyed by IP address and signed-in requests by user id, in Upstash Redis, using short sliding windows; the IP address is sent to Upstash for this purpose and is not stored in our database. Errors are reported to Sentry with personal data collection turned off; on our servers we additionally remove IP addresses, cookies, authorization headers, and email fields before sending. Our hosting provider, Vercel, keeps standard request and function logs; in the log lines we write for email delivery and rate limiting we mask identifiers, and some other log lines carry full internal identifiers or provider error responses. An uptime monitor checks our health endpoint, which carries no user data.

Third-party processors

We share personal data only with the service providers we need to run Moonbeem, and only for the purposes described above. We do not sell your data and we do not share it with advertisers.

  • Supabase : database, authentication, and background functions
  • Vercel : hosting, request logs, and cookie-less site analytics
  • Cloudflare R2 : file storage for avatars, thumbnails, clips, stills, and imports
  • Stripe : payments, subscriptions, and payouts (Stripe Connect)
  • Mux : video hosting, DRM, and playback analytics
  • Resend : transactional email
  • EnsembleData : public post metrics and public bio checks for TikTok, Instagram, and X
  • Google : sign-in with Google, the YouTube Data API, and Google Analytics (with consent)
  • Microsoft Clarity : session recording (with consent)
  • Upstash : rate limiting
  • Sentry : error monitoring
  • The Movie Database (TMDB) : title catalog data, no personal data
